Sockeye Salmon (lots of pics, beware!)

On the way home the other day some kids were selling sockeye on the side of the road for $15 a whole fish. Figured what the heck.

Seasoned with lime juice, onion, garlic, aleppo, savory, and cinnamon. Served with pearl barley cooked in stock with jalepeno's and onions. When the salmon was done, removed the center section of the WSm and grilled some corn that I sliced off the cob mixed with some red pepper flakes.

The next night I turned the remaining salmon into a pie with lemon and dill. Finished it all off with some dark chocolate and sea salt cookies!

Any questions ask away and sorry for the poor quality pictures!

I spent more than that for a medium 2 topping pizza tonight. Great job... Everything looks really tasty.

My favorite meal is Salmon, mashed potatoes, corn, and stewed tomatoes. Eat it every year on my birthday. I would have loved the dish you made with the corn.

Nice looking fish.

Where he is, it could be native <STRIKE>American</STRIKE> Canadian? kids, which would most likely be some form of legal.

John is the winner on this one! When you drive through the reserve there is often kids selling fish on the side of the road. Thanks for all the comments!
