Is anyone using these? How do they effect the cook? Does it help keep the kettle cleaner?

Ever see these on sale? I’m thinking about ordering one for the 26 and 22”.

Any information would be great.

Thanks.

Bought one thinking I would use it as a griddle, but barely use it as a grease catcher.
Our friend from Costa Rica will tell you different I am sure.

I bought the cast iron one a few months back and use it as a griddle. Works great for beef bacon wrapped hotdogs and I have not lost a shrimp or a piece of asparagus since I stared using it :)

Bruno,
I have one of those Stainless SnS griddle/drip/baking pans.
I honestly don’t use it much so it sits.
I do however have the carbon steel drip pan and like that much more.
The carbon one is just easier to clean so it gets used more.,
I mean I don’t want to see a tainted/discolored Stainless Steel griddle pan.

To tell the truth,
I forgot both of my pans when we went up to our cabin a while ago so I had neither.
I just cooked like I always do.
When the cooks were done I just closed off the vents.
When it was time to clean I scraped around the vent thingies so they wouldn’t bend up when I moved them and things went well.
Cleanup was even faster.

That stainless pan looks really cool but I would have rather spent that $100. or so dollars on meat.
At least I would use that 👍.

Bruno,
I bought the enamel over steel drip pan, not the griddle, and it works well with the SnS. I may be goofy but I think it helps direct the airflow up through the charcoal better, if that even matters. But anyway, I foil line mine and leave it in the Performer with the SnS most of the time.

Oh, and yes, they do have sales occasionally. That's how I got mine but don't remember what I paid.

I bought the cast iron one as well. It was cheaper than the others although it doesn't come with the wire insert grate. I think it does help keep things clean. Haven't used it as a griddle yet but looks like it will work fine. It does clean up easily.

My mom gave me an SNS for Christmas last year for my 22. Also bought one for my JJ.

I thought about buying a drip n griddle - a piece of foil or drip pan seems to suit me fine. If I didn't have iron pans/griddles would definitely buy one. There is a drip n griddle on my Christmas list...

It works really well with the SNS and does a great job catching the grease drips. It works really well when my wife does her speciality, basted chicken and prevents gumming up of the bottom air vents on the Weber Performer. I like it for long smoking cooks to direct the airflow into the charcoal chamber of the SNS. It makes the kettle a low and slow smoker that I sometimes prefer to the WSM. Setup and cleanup are much easier. I have the Stainless Steel version and have not tried the other materials. Clean up in the dishwasher couldn't be easier.
