I've done more than several hours of internet research regarding smokers(aside from my own experiences w/a bandera off-set). I have a Wal-Mart gift card and a generic Visa gift card I wanted to use to get a WSM from Walmart.com. For some odd reason, I can't apply the cards to the checkout amount...Does anyone know if I can go into my local Wallyworld and apply said cards towards a WSM purchase?
 
just give walmart customer service a call. I'm sure they will figure out a way for you to spend money with them.
 
apparently the answer is no. got sent two different places in the store and each person look at me like I had a third arm.
 
moved around some $$, and via lowes.com have an 18.5 wsm on the way. once I get it, it's gonna be game on!!!

puns aside, i'd have to say yes. the walmart trolls didn't even try. I went to my local Lowe's. even though they couldn't figure it out, they at least tried to help me. In order to get my smoker on the way,..i gave my giftcards to my wife. Long story short, we've been wanting a deck..etc. since I was having issues w/the cards, I gave them to her in exchange for letting me have the equivalent on my debit card so I could finally get my wsm. I got the 18.5", which will be plenty big for me.
 
Money is money....so you just switched the cards for cash and now the cards will buy something else that you would have paid cash for. Dont sweat it and ENJOY THE WSM...It is a passion!!!!

for sure. order confirmation says it will be here Friday(w/the holiday on Thursday, I have my doubts). if I do get it this week, Saturday or Sunday will involve ribs and abts. if not, may have to wait a while because i'm probably going to have to work next weekend.
 
well, good news and bad news.

good news is that it showed up today and I had it put together in 20min or so.

bad news is that wife decided at last minute to take a trip to the beach this weekend and we have plans for a local fair tomorrow, so my big rib first cook isn't gonna happen. however, I have a small ham, a couple chicken legs and the makings for some abt's that i'm gonna do up after we get home tomorrow. so i'll at least be able to use it.
