SmokeFire Lid Seal

Hi all,

How is the lid seal on your unit.

This is my second unit and the first had bad seal on the right hand side of the door and the second on the left. Reasonable amount of smoke escaping.

I get smoke out of mine. Did you loosen the hinge bolts, wiggle the lid to seat it, and then tighten the bolts? That often gets the lid lined up.

I also get smoke out. Doesn’t faze me a bit.

I’ll have to check this in my next cook, obviously nothing that’s caught my attention so far and it’s been a lot of cooks.

I get smoke out of mine. Did you loosen the hinge bolts, wiggle the lid to seat it, and then tighten the bolts? That often gets the lid lined up.

I also had significant leakage until I adjusted the lid bolts.

Make sure that you're on a level surface, check even if you think it's level. It will rack easily if not, and the lid will rack as well. Since it's on a radius, it opens up the gap. You might get some adjustment from the wheel stems, I've not tried yet.
