Smoked coned beef help asap


 
Two hours into my smoke and the more I read the more I think I didn't soak my corned beef enough. My inlaws are in town and was planning hot pastrami style sandwiches. If this comes out way too salty does anyone have a good recipe for a plan b to cut back on the saltiness? Not sure about hash but it sounds like it may be my only option.
 
How long did you soak it? The first time I tried smoking a corned beef I only soaked if for a couple of hours. It was salty but not to the point it was inedible. I've had Reubens just as salty or saltier at deli's.
 
I scrubbed it with my hands under cold running water and then I only soaked it for about an hour which I thought I read somewhere, apparently not on here. Lol
 
If its way to salty. I suggest slicing it up and reheating the slices in a pot of hot water (not boiling).

I like to soak overnight with a water change if possible.

they are intended to be boiled, so when they aren't they really need a good soaking.
 
Ken; The one I did I only rinsed and rubbed.. I didn't find that it came out too salty at all
