I was wondering if any of the SF Bay Area Folks can recommend a place to buy wood chunks in the San Jose area. I have been buying the bags of Weber stuff from a local hardware store but it seems like more and more it is a lot of crumbs and not to many nice chunks.

Santa left me two bags of wood that were ordered from doitbest, cherry and apple. Haven't had a chance to try either of them but the bags do contain nice looking chunks.

If you're willing to drive a bit further there are lots of other options, including http://www.greenleafbbq.com/ in Livermore who just has bins of all kinds of trimmings from central valley orchards (sold by weight - grab as much or as little as you want) or the Lazzari factory sells charcoal and wood direct. Just go here http://www.lazzari.com/contact.html and go where it says "physical address" and ask anybody charcoal dust covered where to go.
