Small crack in Fire Box on Silver C Flip Grill.

All,

I am currently working on a flip grill. It's a Silver C. I had the fire box sand blasted and when I got it back I noticed a small crack above where the middle burner tube comes in from the manifold. Can I fix this with some extreme high heat JB Weld? I cannot make out the Serial Number to see if Weber would replace it under warranty.

Bobby

Hi Bobby, A grade "B" firebox. Check the body lines above for cracks and bulges before you go too far. Put a straight-edge on the front of the box to check for warpage.

I have a hard time find fireboxes without cracks, warps or burnthrough on the Genesis A,B and C's

While that is not uncommon, it isn't a huge issue. Maybe in another ten years. Yes, JBWeld Hight Temp will fix that up. I put some in a couple pea sized holes where the flavorizer bars rest in my genesis 1000 three plus years ago. Still holding strong. Oh, you won't likely get any love from Weber on that.
