Last night decided to fire up the grill to do some shrimp for a a soba salad we do. In the salad we mix a bunch of veggies in (snap peas, carrots, red pepper, cucumber, etc.) and mix it with an asian dressing, usually consistent of some soy, sesame oil, msio, ginger, and garlic. Last time we did made some poke to go along with it, but this time wanted to make some shrimp. After seeing Tony R's "Spicy shrimp my way", I decided that I'd take a stab at a similar recipe. I use soy, hoisin, ginger, garlic, sirarcha, habeneros, and red pepper flakes. For Kate, just went Salt, pepper, garlic as she doesn't like the spice as much as I do. The asparagus was added just because we had some we needed to use and enjoy it!
Skewered and ready for the grill:
On the grill, I started the Asparagus a little before the shrimp over the coals as they were getting up to full strength. Then I moved them off to the side.
Plated:
All in all really good. The slight char (more obvious in the top skewer) gave them an awesome taste. I would definitely do this again.
