Shipping Q

I thought about where to place this thread, I think it's on-topic for this Forum.

I have 15 year old son who lives in another state and when he's here in the summer he loves eating my pulled pork and has even bragged to his friends back home how great it is. As I was sitting at my desk yesterday's leftover pulled pork I was thinking about him and how great it would be to ship him some. Has anyone ever shipped Q?

I was thinking I could purchase a styrofoam cooler, pack the pulled pork in dry ice in the cooler, then place it in a shipping box surrounded by shipping peanuts so the cooler doesn't slide around inside the box.

Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Larry, I think it would work out well. Just tape the outside of the styrofoam cooler so the lid doesn't open and you should be fine.

Check with the shipping company. All food has to be overnighted. I also believe a package containing dry ice can not be sealed tightly.

Thanks guys. Chris, sorry, wasn't being lazy, I didn't even think that there would be a section on shipping BBQ'd meats on this site. Again what a great resource.

Thanks again.

Larry,
it can be done, but it is very expensive. I had tamales shipped from New Mexico a couple of years ago, and holy toledo was it high dollar
