Self-Cleaning Ovens


 
Sounds like it might work, but would use a lot of energy. How well does it clean them?
I just get the chunks off of my grates and put them in the dishwasher. For the pan, I wipe it down with Simple Green, rinse and refoil.
 
No because the high heat tarnishes chrome badly, wife cleaned the oven for me 1 November while I was deer hunting, she was proud, I asked her if she took the racks out,no it said you didn't have too, lotta polishing to get them to slide again
 
I’ve always heard that running the self cleaning function can be the death of an oven, have never risked it
 
People user it ro get the seasoning off cast iron to start over. Mine doesn't have that feature. I say go for it. It's probably not going to be a good idea in the summer.
