Seafood Steam Pot (no weber involved)

Some of you may have seen, my best friend is in from South Africa. Won't see him for 2 years or so, and here's the going away get together at his parent's house. I spent as much time at this house as a kid as I did at my own.
I got to this gathering after the grilling had taken place. Burgers, dogs, and brats were enjoyed by all. My friend's father had been waiting for me to do a steampot for him and the rest of the family. This is usually my job at his events. He provides the seafood and corn on the cob. Pretty sweet deal if you ask me.

Corn and white onion on first for about 5 minutes alone. Lots of Old Bay on every layer as you add it in.

About 7+ lbs of mussels on for about 5 minutes and they're edible. About 5 more minutes and they're perfect.

This was one bowl with a mix of everything, including shrimp on top. There was another bowl entirely of mussles.

This is as close to a plate as you'll get. Dig in.

Everyone raves about the steampots, but I tell them, "All I'm doing is steaming water and paying attention". But I love seeing everyone smile and sit around enjoying quality food together.

One of my favorite cooks, we do them two or three times a year, and Old Bay is one of the worlds greatest spices. Well done bud, sorry I missed that plate

Very interesting looking cook. I love seafood and have grown to enjoy shellfish. I have always shied away from mussels as we used to use them for fishing bait when I was a kid. Kind of a mental thing now. Am definitely going to give them a try.
