The 2 rows idea was good however it was likely more expensive. Total of 13 bars for the 1000 then total of 5 bars for the Silver B. Not only that but they shorten the grill by an 1 maybe 2 inches. Also the total height of the cookbox was shorter. So i do think was a cost cutting measure. I am talking between 1000 series and Silver B.
The new E II does have the same 2 level rows so same idea but the quality is not there. The bars are way thin. So is the cookbox aluminum walls.
