Saw this Genesis at Costco today


 
The 2 rows idea was good however it was likely more expensive. Total of 13 bars for the 1000 then total of 5 bars for the Silver B. Not only that but they shorten the grill by an 1 maybe 2 inches. Also the total height of the cookbox was shorter. So i do think was a cost cutting measure. I am talking between 1000 series and Silver B.
The new E II does have the same 2 level rows so same idea but the quality is not there. The bars are way thin. So is the cookbox aluminum walls.

Only seen them in 1 or 2 Costco. Usually Costco will have it today and gone tomorrow. Better get it. I still kick myself for not getting the Bayou Classic offset smoker 36 inch two years ago for $399 from Costco. Everywhere else is $1000.

I'm new to this site, in fact this is my first post and I found my way here by looking for the above grill.

I was in my local Costco and saw this model. I've been looking around for a Genesis II four burner but haven't been able to locate one in stock anywhere. My usual haunts are Lowe's and Ace Hardware, but three burner models are all they have.

I've used charcoal for twenty of the last twenty six years of grilling. I had a Kenmore five burner LP gasser from '06 through '12, but returned to charcoal after a sudden windstorm literally blew my unsecured Kenmore across the patio and sent it tumbling across the yard which dented it all up.

Saw this Weber this weekend and looking for info on it.

As someone who is completely new to Weber gas grills, how is the Genesis II line? Are they well built and durable/reliable? I'm concerned about the size of a three burner. My current charcoal grill is small-ish and is a bit of a handicap for when guests are over, but perfect for just our family.

Input and suggestions are appreciated.

Deleted your other post on this subject in order to consolidate discussion in this thread.

I had a 3-burner Genesis from 1992 to 2002, then switched to a 4-burner Summit in 2002. The extra cooking surface and flexibility on setting up for indirect cooking is something I'd never want to go backwards on.

As for quality/longevity of these grills, they've only been around since 2017 and I'm not aware of any major emergent problems. Those who own them seem very happy with them, as indicated in some of the threads.

I would keep checking with stores, we're heading into prime grilling season and someone should have a 4-burner for you to kick the tires on.

Ditto. Any details about this one at Costco? Looks like a S-335 with the cover and iGrill thermometer thrown in. The S-335 has 7mm grates from what I've read.

Anyone know what size grates does the one at costco have?

I've been looking at the SE-330 for the 9mm stainless grates and additional searing burner, but I haven't found them here locally yet. If the costco unit has 9mm grates, I'd probably buy it.
 
My local Coscto had two so I bought one but haven't decided if I will keep it. I would like to have a four burner with rotisserie which this model does not have. It's an additional $90.00 from Weber.

I'm a long time kettle user and the wife has been bugging me for years to get gas for the ease of use (and she could throw something on if I wasn't home). I'm still new to the gas market so doing research and will eventually decide if I will keep this. I have time with Costco's return policy.

I just started unboxing my Costco 345 and was surprised to find this, SS albeit in 7mm. I simply wanted the SS and was going to upgrade so i'm quite excited about this.

 
I assembled my S 345 yesterday and wanted to update this thread as to what's separates the S 335 and Costco's version, the S 345.

With Costco you will get the grill cover, SS 7mm grates, lighted control knobs, and 6 food probes for the iGrill3. All for $999.00 which is $50.00 cheaper than most box stores and about $250 in accessories not including the lighted knobs.

Yah, that's a good deal if you want to go the new grill route. You'll also have Costco's return policy as I think the grill doesn't fall under the 90 day return policy.
 
I just pulled the trigger on this one. It seems to be the 335 with a lot of extra stuff, plus the LX feature of lighted dials.
 
So after unboxing I noticed rust in the inside right side of the cook box. Weber is going to send me a new one, however, they're on backorder. Due to a business trip tomorrow, I can't return it to Costco for a week, so not sure what to do.

My experience with Weber has been when they send you a replacement part, they let you keep the old/damaged one. If so the rusted one can easily be sanded and repainted and you will have a brand new box to do with what you want. How long is the back order?

This must be something else than rust. Some kind discoloration. The cook box is made of cast aluminum and cannot rust.
 
Not sure how long the backorder is. And yes, they did say that I should just "recycle" the cookbox - so basically I'll have two.

Any thoughts on how to clean it off?
