Rub


 
I found making them yourself is the best method. Experiment with different powders. I've tried many of the "off the shelf" ones only to be disappointed. I've developed my own from which I make from scratch and simply tweak it from time to time.
 
Lot's of good rub recipes on this site. Or if you don't want to go to the trouble and expense of making your own try to find a place that sells the Dizzy Pig rubs. They usually have a chart that has reccomendations for matching different rubs to what you are smoking.
