Rotisserie Crispy Skin

Also, the MEATER app supports up to 5 devices. A M/M+ is considered a device, and a MEATER Block with up to 4 probes is considered a device, so 5 MEATER Blocks with 4 probes each gives you 20-probe capability. Since we are talking about cooking 2 hams, or 2 chickens, or 2 turkeys to share with our daughter, and I also have the possibility of using 2 grills instead of taking twice the time to cook if the situation calls for it, a 2nd M+ seems like a better way (for me) to go. By the time you add a 3rd M+ it would have made more sense to have bought the Block, but I don't foresee a need for 3 or 4 probes, and the 4-probe block is OOS anyway...only a 2-probe version is available with 2 add'l probes available pre-ordered @ $118 (shipping in March).

I'm returning the MeatStick and going to ponder on this a bit.

Thanks all. So I might have to do an app off the cloud in the WiFi. For the android. Perhaps eating an apple.

I'm just being stupid. Thanks seriously, good information. I just got a M+, so I guess when I'm using it I'll leave the wooden box on the side table. With the plus, I might get better range than I had with the "regular" so who knows? Maybe I won't have to keep my adroids apple on the windowsill anymore. I tried to cloud off, but I'm not sure it went into the WiFi. If I have to do a download for the M+ I can pay more attention this time. The only problem is, I'm actually running out of passwords for different accounts. I'm not even kidding. I've already used my very best ones, and I don't know how many more I have in me!

I'm planning to temp check my meater plus meat probes today.

My sous vide is perfect for this job as I can check at temps I care about like 120, 160, 195 and 203.

My sous vide and my themapen temps match so I'll trust them as truth.

Dan I forgot to mention you always crack me up. It's like, "hey I was cooking two rotisserie chickens at the same time as a pizza" and you'll somehow be like, "Oh, like this?" and there's a picture of it right there.

I have 569 passwords in a KeePass pw manager. The database is stored in a free Dropbox account and syncs across all my devices. I used to use ZDNet's Password Plus but switched everything over to KeePass in 2014. There's an Android app for my tablet but I'm not sure about Apple.

I started taking pictures of most of my cooks this spring so I have lots of pictures. I'm usually too busy ( lazy ?) to take notes and the pictures have the time stamp so this pretty much is my cooking log.

If the cook turns out well I'll scribble notes on the printout of the recipe, or the rub etc. if the cook didn't go well, I try to make a note of what needs to be improved.

I would call Customer Support first and talk with them about the sous vide. They claim the M+ is water resistant, not waterproof.

Ok,

I was only going to put the tip of the probe into the water up to the line in the middle but I'll call them.

I think the meat probe part is accurate, but like yours the ambient temp is not.

I am confident that under lab conditions these probes are within their claimed accuracy. I don't think there is anything wrong with the probe. I have read more than one review that talks about why the ambient sensor is inherently off, and it has to do with the sensor being so close or inserted into a cold object and having to warm up. One of the suggestions is to put the probe into a potato until the probe warms up, then put it in the protein. I'm going to see if I can find the review and link it here.

The Naked Whiz discusses it here. My experience is the same as he describes:

The MEATER FAQ acknowledges it, sorta:

The main advantage of a M+, for me, is not having to open the lid unnecessarily during a roti cook. Also, the Time Remaining estimate is very helpful as is having a record of the cook for future reference. I don't trust either sensor to be anything more than reasonably accurate so I double check them against wired probes and instant reads.

Oh man. I can't apple my androids in the clouds for wifi dropboxes. They don't have the app for the password without a password, which makes my password the password for all the passwords. Now I'm back to square one. I'm running out of passwords!

Ok.

I was trying to be hilarious.
I wasn't sure.

My email account was hacked a couple of years ago. The hackers flagged every notice from Amazon, Walmart, NewEgg, Costco, Sam's Club, etc, as Spam and if you don't check your Spam folder you will never know. At Costco they registered a stolen credit card number and ran up a bunch of charges against it. I had to close that account and open another. At Google they ordered several sets of expensive earphones against a credit card I had linked with Google Pay. Google shipped one $175 pair out the door before I could cancel the order. NewEgg was very unforgiving with my email address associated with my account so I no longer do business with NewEgg. I played Merry Hell trying to keep up with all the fun and frolic but somewhere along the way I completely lost my sense of humor about passwords.

Fortunately for me, I order so often from Amazon that I was tipped off when I didn't get an order confirmation. I use unique and randomly generated passwords now for each site and I don't keep my credit card info on file on any of them.

Two factor authentication.
Not into cell phones. Whatsoever. I have pre-paid for emergencies and most times leave it turned off. Today when I turned my phone on to take some pictures I had 21 messages and 4 phone calls from people I don't know

EDIT: Our grandson's father's life is on his cell phone. One time they pranked him and reset his password but then didn't remember what the new password was. Now that is hilarious! Not so much for him, though.

Today at the market there was a young woman with a large purse in the crook of her elbow and a cell phone at eye level so she wouldn't miss anything, and a man pushing his cart with one hand while talking on the phone with the other.

The best thing I saw, though, at Winco a couple of weeks ago, absolutely brilliant...this guy was shopping and he was comparing the various sized jars and cans with pictures on his cell phone. We stopped and talked for a bit...I thought it was some sort of online shopping app where you could choose what you want and just zoom in and pick it up...but his wife had sent him to do the shopping and had pictures of the items he was sent to retrieve to be sure he picked up the right thing. Now that is a good hubby if you ask me! Quite a funny and personable guy, I might add.

EDIT: Thinking about it and wondering if maybe the young woman with the cell phone at eye level was live-streaming her shopping trip?

Even my 95 yo dad has a Samsung S8. In today's times not using one is opening up all kind of things. Like not having 2 factor. That alone saves a lot of grief and you can do that on any mobile phone that at the very least can accept text messages. We don't even own a landline phone anymore. Now, it's not glued at eye level 24/7 but it's always close.
