Roadside Chicken Rick Bayless Style


 
James your cook of the Bayless chicken looks tasty, but the real Roadside Chicken recipe from Bryan S has been a staple on this forum for years.
Personally, I don't think that Rick Bayless is not entitled to use the name, as his method is not in the spirit of the original. Bryan S is the
king of Roadside chicken in my mind. Rick's Citrus Chicken would be a more appropriate name for his recipe. With that said, it would be interesting
to make a batch of each and see the peoples choice. Then again, what do I know, as I think that chicken fried in peanut oil in a cast iron pan over
the coals is the best.

Bob, as I had mentioned this was not the best roadside chicken that I have prepared or eaten, and I have only eaten what I have prepared. Last summer I did do the recipe from Bryan S and I and the family loved it. Again Rick's recipe never called to marinate the chicken in the marinade and when a recipe doesn't say it's okay to marinate I usually don't thinking there is a reason such as the marinate will break down the protein. I still like Rick and will try a few more recipes as my sweetheart has his book and she is always cooking some fabulous non-grill recipes. Thanks for the look and comments Bob.
