Rib Tips

Okay, don't shoot me, but I've been to Applebee's and had their rib tips. They're not bad but I'd like to make my own. There in lies the problem. What the heck is a rib tip? I've had baby backs and full racks of spares and I've cut full racks into St. Louis but I've never see those flat little bones that are the tips. Where do those come from?

Great link. Thank you. Even specifically discussed the Applebee's riblets which are not part of the rib at all. Which explains why I've never seen those bones before when preparing ribs.
