Rib Rack?

Hi Guys,

I want to do some ribs soon on my Mini-wsm. Do you have any recommendations on good rib racks? Locally available is best, but I can wait and order it. I'll probably split the ribs so I can do 2 slabs. Thanks!

Lowes has some that are pretty cheap and they work well. They also have these "spears" on the sides to do potatoes or corn. Personally I cut those off because I never use them and they make the racks bigger. I think they are $7.50.

I heard the weber rib rack fits in the mini.
But just to make sure I'd measure before you go and measure at the store.
I have an off brand and it does not fit in my mini.

I got a really neat rack from Lowe's that you can flip over and use to hold a roast, too. Not sure if it will fit in MWSM, though. You can probably find a regular SJ in the store and test fit.

No real need for a rack with the mini. If you're doing babybacks, just roll each rack into a U shape. Insert one leg of one rack of ribs into the open part of the U of the other. Looking at this from the top, it will sort of form an S shape. Run 1 or 2 bamboo or metal sticks thru the whole thing and place standing up on the rack.

I second George's idea. I have rib racks and have used them but once I rolled my ribs I never looked back. Rib racks are a pain to clean. They have a lot of little places that catch stuff. Sure, you can trow them in the dishwasher and ignore the little left overs, but I can't. Rolling, or in the case of the mini, folding is the easiest, not clean up way to handle ribs.

I saw a rib rack at costco yesterday, it was made by kitchenaid and looked large. Anyone have it? Looks like it might fit on a 22.5"

Lawrence, that looks like a very large mini. Good luck with your cook and let us know how they turn out.
Did you tie the ribs in a roll? If so that seems like a good idea with a single rack of ribs.
