For anyone that has the rib-o-lator. Is it worth getting if you dont do a whole lot of big cooks? There just three of us.

Thanks

It seems like a neat toy, but doesnt seem like it would make the ribs any better or allow you to cook more ribs....Maybe I am missing something.....

seems like a workable tool. many like it. but i just don't cook enough to justify the cost so i'm passing on it as well.over a year ago i was planning on making something like it for myself. i might still do it.

I'm just a sucker for gadgets.I want to try it with my smokenator and some higher heat ribs.I figure it wll be a good Christmas present. If I don't pick something my mom will get something I don't even want. I tell her don't get me anything but she won't have that. Also my wife can't complain that I buy to many gadgets for my grills since I didn't buy it.

I will post some pics when I get. I have to get the rotisserie also. I have been wanting one of those since I got my kettle anyways.

I'm a sucker for gadgets too, already have the rotissory gear which I really like. I have to admit I'm second guessing the value this one might bring based on other posts and some user's experiences.

What's the problem that has you second guessing?

It is a gadget, we have the rotiss, we're all freaks-I don't get it?

Seriously, I love the R-O-L and it is just another tool in the box, but when I got my 8"EZ-Que a couple years ago people were saying the same thing, and I straddled the fence before finally jumping-and I'm glad I did! I enjoy rotisserie cooking and the cradle system upped my game-you can keep the spit forks!

The Rib-O-Lator will hold a lot of food, and I'm in the same boat as some here- we can't cook all that meat, so I understand the hesitance of some to get one. You don't have to use all four trays, it is a good idea to evenly balance the meats in them, but I've never had any problem with any of my cooks and I've posted pics of the R-O-L in use on my Performer, Cajun Bandit and Drum Smoker here and at the Brethren site, and there is a You-Tube vid of one of my rib cooks on the Cajun Bandit OTS.

When I first posted info here about the Rib-O-Lator, I admitted I was skeptical about it when I first saw it in action on a GAS Grill, and kind of thumbed my nose at it, but realized it was something I "needed in my arsenal!"

So it may not be for everyone, but I feel its a deal.
But then again I spent $9 on the Char-Broil rotis basket and have fun with it too!

I plan to use the Rib-O-Lator in Competition next year, and used the CB basket on my First Place and 180 Perfect Score in Chicken last Summer in Seattle.

BTW-I would even recommend it to the Gas grillers out there-with the smoker box, it will produce quality eats.

Some of the user reports that talk about things slipping off, rib racks that sort of have to be the right size, etc. Realize it's just another tool. Just wondering if I personally would pull it out as much as I think.

I don't think it's a bad idea, just wondering whether I would really use it more than tools I already have.
