You and me both Bruce! There has to be some nice ones left out there. I do have a couple other really nice black lids with almost no fade on them and still like the black ones the best.

I believe it was a 2003 and I got it at a yard sale in 2008 for $35. It was my personal grill from 2008 until July 2020 when I refurb'd it. Lets say It was well taken care and the fade was almost non existent! I sold it to a buddy of mine after I found the Genesis 1000 Red Head I'm currently working on. He got a real good deal!!! But the ole Black grill was a work horse and easy on the eyes IMO !!

Good story. Amazing how those old classic Genesis grills last with a bit of care. Nothing like the Chinesium tin cans that get replaced every three years.

Agreed. Even with almost no care they lasted pretty well!
