Restored Weber Genesis 1000

We had a Genesis 1000 about 20 years ago. It sit's by the old milk can by the wood's edge rotting away. I found another one on CL that I could restore. I found another one on the side of the road to use for parts. Out of the 3 I made 1. I used white oak for the slats. The one from CL came with cast iron grates. I had SS flavorizer bars in our old grill and used those. Can't get pics to come up.

BEAUTIFUL restore! Looks brand new! Love those redheads! Wish I could find one here in Oregon, but seems all we have is Duck green, blue and Black. Congrats on your new grill!

Excellent job! I wish I could find Weber grills on the side of the roads around here!! My goal is to restore my next readtop just like that one, I really like the wood at the bottom of the cart.

Thanks DaveW for fixing my pictures. Thanks everyone for all the kind words. The white oak is from the trees out of our woods when we cleared our lot to build our house 25 years ago. All the trim in our house is made from that same wood. We cooked some "Case's Pork Roll" & "Loeffler's Hot Dogs" on the Weber Genesis last night. Absolutely perfect grilling! To say I love this grill is an understatement! Oh yeah........Yes, I did make the handle.

I added a side area to the right side with more white oak. My "Genesis 1000" is now a "Genesis 2000"! I'd like to add a picture of it, but I can't upload a picture to Photobucket. Can anyone help me post a picture if I email it to them? Thanks, Scott

What's the significance of this grill? It's not the restored one, but a donor for parts??? The restored 1000 turned out fantastic! Congrats.

Chad, that was our original grill. It became a parts donor. The one I restored was a Genesis 1000, but now looks exactly like the model we had (Genesis 2000?)
