So I have tried both the rustoleum high heat paint as well as the tremclad high heat enamel, in matte black.

They both come out charcoal grey and not a deep rich matte black. It just doesnt look right. Any other products worth looking into?

What about Krylon highly heat. The one in the white can is a nice satin black.

Yah, I use that on all my cook boxes. I use the Semi Gloss ultra on the lid end caps however.

Try Stove Bright paint. I think they have two or three black shades. I used their Satin Black on my FB and end caps earlier this year.

No, that is not a good idea. The paint is intended for the outside. A little overspray is OK, but that paint will give off noxious fumes as it heats up. Probably won't kill anyone or make anyone sick, but still not recommended to use on the inside of the grill.

Yes, Stove Bright Satin Black.
