Replacement Water pan for 18.5" WSM

I'm looking to order a replacement water pan for an 18.5" WSM. I hear the Brinkmann charcoal pans are the best as replacement water pans for the WSM, but my question is what size? Is it the 15.5" charcoal pan? That just seems too small but I thought I'd ask. Thanks!

I have that Brinkmann pan as a replacement for my 18.5" WSM and it works fine. I ordered it from Amazon. Good luck.

They come in sizes? Isn't there only one charcoal pan?

Also, make sure you put a clay saucer in that charcoal pan. It's very thin.

Alan F,

I just got a 2003 WSM 18.5 on CL which has the small water pan; I have yet to cook on it. Why the added clay saucer? Have you cooked on the WSM 18.5 with the water pan alone and with the pan and the saucer? If so, what are the pros & cons with the water pan only versus water pan with saucer. Do you use the water with the saucer or use it without water?
