After her listening to me “Fuss and Fume” over the cheap vacuum bagger she has “suggested” I replace it with a better one!
I’ve been looking a little and Amazon has a “Vakumar” that has very high reviews, is within my meager budget and, should not take over 20% of my counterspace.
Have touched base with one of the “critical thinkers” but, sorry pal, I don’t have the real estate nor funding for the cabinet style(as much as I wish I did!) so, do any of the rest of you good folks have any recommendations?

I bought a foodsaver several years ago on sale that has worked fine for me but I don't use it very often.

The thing I look for in a bag sealer is a bag cutter, because I buy vacuum bags by the roll. Of course, if you prefer pre-made bags, this won't be a concern, but I've been using a bag sealer since the days of the original Daisy Seal-A-Meal when the cost of sealer bags were a significant expense. Other than that, I look for the models with the greater number of reviews and with the highest percentage of four- and 5-star reviews. This Vakumar looks to be a decent choice by my standards, with 2.3k reviews and 87% 4- and 5-star ratings:

Good Luck, Tim!

I'm with @Bob Bailey . 2 FoodSavers died here in relatively short order, the Vacmaster I purchased through Costo has lasted at least 3 times as long and has been nearly trouble free.

As far as media goes..... I've been getting bags through Webstaurantstore.com. At less than a dime each, for the most part, it's not worth my time to cut from a roll and seal my own. And getting good media is rather important.

Just never saw anything but Food Saver models there. Basically the updated newer one we have. So just kind of surprised me

Good Luck, Tim!
That’s the one I am considering Ed!
Same criteria, 2300+ reviews, most four star and above!

I have cling wrap and ziplock bags. Works just fine for steaks and chicken. We try to use everything up in 6 months now so we don’t overstock for just the two of us.

Fish we just buy fresh when we want to enjoy it.

Hey Brett! Didn’t know you were home or, are you?
Nope. Not yet. Finally got WiFi I can function with. Took over 1,000 pics already per the iPhone shared album we created with family. Will get some uploads going. Hope I remember how to cook when we return. Picked up a bunch of techniques and ingredients and new ideas. The food has been amazing.
