Hi Folks,

Will the Weber charcoal grate for the kettle fit in the smokey mountain? I need a new charcoal grate replacement and it seems the kettle grate is cheaper than a smokey mountain charcoal grate

I'm fairly certain they are different sizes. I'll try to check it out tomorrow if no one pipes up.

The 22.5 WSM grate is definitely bigger in diameter. by probably an inch and a half.

What size WSM? Either the 18.5" or a 22.5" kettle grate will fit on the same sized WSM as long as the original grate is somewhat usable.

I did that on both sizes of my Weby's to keep lump from falling thru, if you don't use lump then don't cross hatch it , just keep the bars inline.

The charcoal grate from the Weber 22.5" kettle measures 17" in diameter. It's actually the same diameter as the 18.5" WSM bottom cooking grate.

The charcoal grate for the 18.5" WSM is 15.25" in diameter; for the 22.5" WSM, 18.25" in diameter.
