Thanks! It's a simple brass 1/8" NPT fitting. Available pretty much at any home center i.e. Menards, Home Depot, Lowes, a hardware store, what have yo

Yeah I wa thinking the same. The dark black spots you see are not holes but just shadows from raised paint chips but yeah it looks pretty roughAfter taking a closer look at this picture it looks like the area around that cracked fitting may have been compromised by rust. I would wire brush that area to make sure before investing any time or money in that manifold.View attachment 122084
Wow that would be great news. I was looking at replacements online just now not sure if the ones I see with square tubing even fit on this old warhorseI might have one or 2 of those old manifolds in my back garage. I'll take a look tomorrow
That's good news. I've had and seen a lot rougher manifolds. As long as it's just surface rust you should be ok.Yeah I wa thinking the same. The dark black spots you see are not holes but just shadows from raised paint chips but yeah it looks pretty rough
The square tubed ones are just a newer design but they do work. The part # is 56038 for Genesis 1000-5000 grills. I'm guessing your old one will be fine though.Wow that would be great news. Isn’t the spacing different on 1000 versus the square tube silver era grills? The square tubed ones are just a newer design but they do work. The part # is 56038 for Genesis 1000-5000 grills. I'm guessing your old one will be fine though.

Well the elbow came right off with a crescent wrench and the hose came off the elbow just as easy. The threads in the manifold look fine. There’s some rust inside the pipe, not sure what/if there’s anything I should do about that. If I’m going to blast the manifold I assume I’ll be taking the valves off right? In the pics you can see the crack in the elbow went all the way thru to the hose threadsThat's good news. I've had and seen a lot rougher manifolds. I recall the early silver b’s have a round manifold as well. Threw me for a loop/delay when I blasted and painted one for a 1000lx I did. Learning experience!Yes
Edit. I've never seen a square manifold on an x000. The only square ones I've seen are 2002+ silver / gold.
Now we are talking about two different things. Yes, the spacing is different between them and they are not compatible. Weber also made replacement Genesis 1000-5000 manifolds that were square tubed and looked just like the silver/gold manifolds. These manifolds were not original equipment so you probably will never see one on a grill.Isn’t the spacing different on 1000 versus the square tube silver era grills?
I wouldn't, I would just tape them off and leave them in place. There's a good chance that you will damage a valve removing them, but maybe not so that's up to you.. If I’m going to blast the manifold I assume I’ll be taking the valves off right?
I was not aware of square tube x000 manifolds. Thanks for the update. Now we are talking about two different things. Yes, the spacing is different between them and they are not compatible. Manifold Assembly 56038 - OEM Weber - eReplacementParts.com https://share.google/RA5LcixJ4wf3mDGkTAhhh. I get it. The wording had me confusedNow we are talking about two different things. so I went to the hardware store today to try and find an elbow 1/8 M to 1/8F and the only piece they had was this one in the pics. Not sure if it is appropriate for this use but the threads fit fine in the manifold and on my hose. I do notice that the ID of the male end is a little smaller than the ID of the piece that came with my grill. I can return it if I need to and I’ll just order the square edge one online.I wouldn't, I would just tape them off and leave them in place.
