Redtop Lid Comes Out of Hibernation

Dug the redtop lid out of hibernation. Ive been using a Genesis Gold Stainless lid on my 5000 for ages. Time to get this baby back to original !

I’m leaning toward using the blue one on the project grill. It’s been tucked back in the corner for a couple of years. Going to get steel next week, firebox and end caps are in the back of the car(dry and clean) until I set up the garage for paint.

Nice ! Ive refurbed my tables once before and am working on them again now. I have a black 1000 I just picked up and im gonna refurb that one 1st to get my 3000 completely apart and back to new.

Heres my table progress ...First 6 are done, just stained the 2nd 6 today. Gotta build the 18 for the bottom from scratch.

Yea I put that SS lid on my 3000 prob 10 or so years ago when SS was cool aahaaha . Got it off a grill someone tossed.

Im done with it, going back to red and wood.

I think im gonna delete my side burner and put another table as well. I think I used my side burner once and I had the grill since new. I believe its a 99 ? Not 100% sure

I find that my red lids seem to get a deeper red color as they get hotter. I wonder if other lid colors do the same?

I agree. I remember back when stainless lids became available, lots of people jumped on that.

Man good guess !

Funny story about this grill ... at the time I smoked. Marlboros. Every pack had miles on them. I entered some contest and sent in a ton of miles (cant remember how many I was ripping them off every pack I could find) and I won this grill along with a bunch of other stuff like a giant igloo cooler that I still have btw, a video camera, a poloroid camera and a whole bunch of other stuff ... so I got this grill in 1999 for free aahhahaa and took care of it all these years !
