Easter dinner is at at our house.
Baby backs are on the menu, 6 to 8 slabs, plus 'to be determined' other meat.
Using K-Comp charcoal.
First time using my RK,
So the amount and placement of charcoal help is needed.
Ring the coals on the outside, or 4 sides for indirect?
All vents open?

Thanks!
Bob

I have my Guru hooked up and 1 lit chimney and banked on opposite the fan, ribs on opposite side of the Charcoal Bank. I use Basque, Wicked Good, or Rancher along with Stubbs.

Buy a cheap coal shovel and bank the charcoal under the opening in the cooking grate. leave the opening open to act as a guide of the area to stay away from. One Weber sized chimney of Kingsford on each side wide open should give you 325f.

Fire up the RK once without meat to burn the oil of the cooking grate and use a little wood for a seasoning cook.

Enjoy.

Thanks guys!
Actually Konrad, it's been well used, but not by me.
Found her on CL last year.
The cooking grate is rusty, but solid.
I'll sand it down, and oil it well.
I can only imagine what a new grate would cost!
