Quick question with pictures...


 
So earlier today my wife purchased me a digital version of bbq pit masters and I got inspired to do a "Boston butt" so I went and bought (or what I think I bought) my first pork butt- Boston butt- or as they call it here... Shoulder minus the trotter ? I am scared to post this coz I think it's the wrong cut of pork :( here goes...

I'm no expert, but thats definitely a pork shoulder. I think you got more than is traditionally cut here in US. The spine and part of a rib section look to be included in your cut. I think you got the entire shoulder quarter rather than what is traditionally presented in our stores/butchers. Check out wiser men/women than I below.

Cook it like you would a BB and you'll be most happy, that's a nice chunk of meat
