Here in Eureka, we have about a gazillion "ornamental" cherry trees. Is there any difference between the wood from these trees as opposed to a fruit-bearing cherry tree, as far as smoke wood is concerned? I'm hoping not, because if I can use the wood from the ornamental trees, I'll have a lifetime supply of cherry!

Thanks for the reply, Jim. I read the FAQ's and all I find is a comment about wood from choke cherries being bitter. Anyone else?

Thanks, Jim. That's the same FAQ page that Jim Minion sent me to... I still don't see where it mentions ornamental versus fruit-bearing cherry. I think I'll just try it and see what happens!!

Dinner is tomorrow night, around 6:00. /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

P.S. I take it back -- I just found where you were talking about, further down the questions.
