Pulling the Kubota apart

Lower hood panel painted. Found a better way to set up the HVLP gun. Learning a lot. Pretty soon I'll be my own MAACO or Earl Scheib. "I'll paint any tractor any color for just $19.95..........................RIGHT"
I am sure some of you are not old enough to remember this line LOL
Ha. I've seen some of those economy paint jobs...... almost no prep or masking...... bright yellow car, open the door and see the original black paint.

Finally got the steering wheel off and was then able to get the center stack off the machine. Able to power wash all the years of built up mud, dirt and grass. What a mess. Now I can begin adding my wiring I need. My buddy and I are going to work on the upper hood this week and get some high power LED floods hidden inside the original headlight lenses. Still so much to do. t least my paint work came out very nicely

I was at my son's baseball practice at our local high school this week and I saw that somebody at the board of ed had parked a Gravely 60" zero turn mower out by the baseball fields. It really kind of annoyed me how a really nice piece of equipment was simply left out there by a field with no security at all. I guess its good that somebody has faith in their fellow man, but it really contrasts with how the local contractors take care of their equipment.

Well after a busy week watching the little one I have FINALLY begun slowly reassembling. Floor pan painted with Herculiner Bed Liner is fully cured. Wiring is 95% done, lights work, center housing is mounted, and floor pan/rear fender is going back. Even got the tail lights I added working on the back along with high intensity LEDs mounted inside the OE headlight housings. All wiring is soldered and insulated with marine grade shrink tubing as well. All connectors added are waterproof and positive locking, and rather than wiring the high current through the switch I added for my sprayer, I added a 40 amp relay. So the switch only has to handle a few milliamps and let the relay do the "heavy lifting". Even added COB LEDs for the indicator lamps (no more not seeing the low fuel lamp winking at me LOL). S&*t loads of work done and yet to be done. But, at least I am seeing progress. If I don't have the little tyker this week I anticipate I may actually be running it mid to late week

I only use my lights for when I'm down near the road cutting, so that cars will see me, even in bright daylight. I want them as bright as possible.

Further progress. Wiring all done, rear body work all bolted down, seat on. Mower deck all serviced fresh gear box lube, all points greased as well, new scalp wheels. Machine is raised up and waiting for deck to be installed and calibrated today for height and level.

And we're done! It came out of the garage for the first time since April 3rd. :D Finally. A couple little adjustments to do here and there but it's running and usable right now. It's back in it's home in the spare garage now waiting for the first chance to cut the lawn.

Looks great, and I'm sure it's working as good as it looks. With the wet spring we've had you'll get a chance to use it soon enough!

Well I think I need to fine tune mower deck adjustments a tad but, did my first cut with it. Everything worked well. I was also able to repair the linkage from the HST control pedal (go pedal) so it now can back up as well as it goes forward plus I cut back a little on the forward speed. It was crazy fast. It could get up to about 15mph. I just don't need or want that. So I was able to reset the linkage and limit top end to maybe 10 mph. Overall very pleased. I have new blades arriving today. (Gator Type). These are really nice blades https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0787PX1TG/?tag=tvwb-20 so I bought a second set. When the new ones come I will pull the ones I bought last year. Wife said she can bring them to work and guys in the shop will put them on the sharpeners they have (she works at Estwing Mfg. https://www.estwing.com/ which makes very high end hammers, chisels, some really cool knives as well) so I will then simply rotate the blade set out twice a year. At least until she retires :D
