Pork belly sticks

The weather was nice this morning and I was curing some bacon so I thought I’d cook some belly on some sticks.
I couldn’t find any good skewers for the job so I grabbed some extra chopsticks.

I used molasses as a binder, some Killer Hogs and some Kosmos honey killer bee.
This is the first time in 5 or so years I actually bought rubs.

They just sounded good with that honey powder and all that so I thought I’d give it a go.
The rubs dI’d taste good right out of the containers so I’m hopeful that this will turn out good.
I’ve been giving them a few squirts of acv with a bit of sriracha in it too.

Will serve this with beans and slaw.

The cook looks good but the view to Mother Nature is amazing!

This was the first real nice day in a long time.
Mother Nature has been kind to the area.

The cook?
Meh.
I think I cut these too big.
The seasoning was fine and it was tender but it just is not worth repeating.
I’ve done decent belly burnt ends before.
Well the noodles tasted good anyways :).

They look good. (Pork belly strips are my favourite bbq fare...hands down).
What I do is cut the belly into 1.5" cubes and grill them like you did, but raise them a few more inches from the fire.
I find they taste better the next day as re-heats.
