Pizza, first try on the grill.

I got a pizza stone for Christmas.

This is the first try.

Jamon Pata Negra, Salchion, Buffalo Mozzarella, English cheddar, home made tomato sauce made from ripe plum tomatoes, home made dough made from Italian "0" flour.

Should have added a bit of sugar to the dough to feed the yeast, and I'll have to work on the temps, the grill only reached 450 degrees celcius, but other than that, it could have been much worse. I hope you like the pictures.

Geir, that pizza looks great. I wouldn't change a thing.

On a side note, 450c seems pretty hot to me -- how high are you trying to get your temps exactly?

Oh yeah. I love homemade pizza, but don't have much luck on the grill. My wife does a fine job using the oven with her whole-wheat dough. Yours looks better than any I've ever had outside of Brooklyn.

I've seen others here using temps at about 550C, and I know Italian pizza ovens are even higher, so maybe in that area? I had the pizza in the grill for about 12-14 minutes, and I know that is longer than italian style pizza, which I am trying to copy.

Thank you for all the kind words, everybody.

After reading a few posts regarding pizza, it seems that I have mixed together F and C- temps. 550F seems to be a nice temperature.

Thanks for the correction.

Luxurious ingredients, perfectly cooked, great photos, good commentary, ideal post. I just wanted to say this
