Pig roast!

A buddy of mine at work threw a pig roast yesterday and invited all the guys from work. Another work mate built the pig rotisserie that you see in these pix. Very cool setup...2.5 rpm on the pig. Thing came out wicked good!

if you click on this thumbnail you can see all the pictures from the day , but I'll just say this was a real fun time. The pig was delicious , we all had a few adult beverages and it was a nice weather day. They even let me mop the guest of honor!

I betcha that did come out really delicious Frank! Agree with Paul on whoever designed that rotisserie is great! He
need to think about marketing them.

Absolutely. What great looking design. The belts and pulleys are a lot more forgiving than chains and sprockets.

That pig looks like a much more manageable size than the one
that was presented to Bob Sample last week. I'll start with one this size
if given the opportunity. Nice cook.

I will pass on all your compliments to Pitmaster dave. He is a pretty amazing fabricator. He can turn his hand to just about anything.
...and BobH , I believe that piggy weighed 50-60 lbs uncooked. No idea how much weight he lost in the sauna....

Did you ever cover the pig, Frank? Thanks for sharing the photos.

funny you should ask...it was the original plan that one of the hosts friends was bringing some kind of metal " hood" for the roti , but the dude bailed. We talked about how the sides could have been higher and we would have liked to prop up some plywood to block the wind , but nothing was handy. If the kid does this again we will apply a lot of lessons learned from this cook.

Looks great! I gotta get more friends so I can justify a pig roast...or I can roast a pig to get more friends... Very inspiring cook!

Nice post Hambone. Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. It reminds me of pig pickins we used to go to in NC 20+ yrs ago.
