picnic ham

Hi all!

So, I have a picnic ham sitting in the freezer. Seems like (after a search on this forum) most folks like to pull it like a butt? One peson mentioned he likes it better sliced, and if you leave the skin on, its like crackling?

Whats the consensus? Pulled? If so, is it done to same temps as a butt?

TIA!
K

When someone says "picnic ham" I think of this -

. As it is already cooked, I am not sure how you turn it into pulled pork.

Now if you say picnic shoulder, I envision this -

The shoulder can be cooked just like a butt.

this is fresh 'picnic ham', from a whole hog I bought that was processed. No curing, no smoking/cooking. Part of the shoulder

I've only cooked one and I just cooked it like a shoulder and pulled it. It's leaner than a butt, but it should turn out fine.
