Picked up a used Q200 for $25 on letgo

I just picked up a used Q200 that matches my other Q200 that's out on loan, for $25! I found it on LetGo. I saw a bunch on offerup but they were old & no response - I saw a Q100 & a Q200 @ letgo & both responded pretty much immediately.

Not sure, but I'll probably keep this one running on those little green propane cylinders unless they seem inconvenient or expensive.

Burners look clean, going to hit it with some oven cleaner & do a burn off, then give it a test run.

That photo just does not look like a 200. It looks too small from left to right, no side tables, and the lid looks too tall for it's width compared to a 200
 
Thanks guys! I'll double check the oven cleaner thing - thanks for the tip.

Any pointers on what to clean it with? I feel like taking the burner out & doing a minor disassembly & fairly thorough cleaning. Barkeepers friend or dish soap?

I measured the grate, it's 16.75 wide x 12.5 deep, so it's not a Q200 - makes me wonder if my other one is a 200, of if it's the same size. When I saw this in person I thought it was the same size. My other Q doesn't have the tables either, but it's mounted on a collapsible cart that it came with (paid $80~$100 on the used market for that setup iirc)

the Q200 is supposed to be 21.2L x 15.2. It wasn't advertised as a Q200, they just called it a small weber Q. So is it a 100, or a baby Q?

Yah, its a Q100. But, it is a steal as long as the burner is in good shape. The cooking grate looks excellent. Good job.
 
Yep still a good find. The 100/AKA Baby is actually a little better performer than the 2xx (though that is marginal) and honestly given what the Q is used for (I use mine for small cooks or bad weather) I almost thing the Q220 I have is over kill and might be better served by a 1xx AKA Baby Q
 
My other grill is a Q100 too! Exactly the same.

Here's some kabobs (2 batches) we did back in May - 3 of them filled each person up, and there were leftovers too. I wonder where I got the idea that it was the Q200.

No complaints, it does what I need it to. I've eaten a lot of food off of one of these over the years - an old friend had one & he'd cook london broil & tri-tips on it all the time..

Do the 2 share the same burner configuration? I know the Q3 has 3 burners, but is the setup in the Q1 the same as the Q2? When we go camping and tailgating, our Q2 has performed flawlessly, but it is usually cooking for 6-8 people. My 17 yrvold son has recently fallen in love with grilling and I would love to get him his own Q. I just wonder if the Q1 would suit his needs for the near future, or should I look for a Q2 like the one he has already claimed as "his Q grill"!!!

The Q3xxx has 2 burners not 3 and the Q1,2xxx have 1 burner. The smaller Q1/2 series have a ring type burner with the center open and the larger 3 series has a larger ring burner with a single tube going down the middle from left to right
 
LMicheals is right on with the description of the different Q grills. The Q1 and Q2 series also have one burner knob and the Q300 will have two.

I think your son would be fine with a Q1x series grill unless he grills for more than 2-3 people on a regular basis. Also, think long term with these grills. Aside from a new cooking grate every so often, they last forever.
