Performer Problem

I haven't touched my gasser since picking up the Performer on CL 3 weeks ago. Is this how it ends? So anticlimactic?

I just bought a 1997 gasser and yes............. this is how it ends. I love that flippin' Performer. Your search is over.

We use the Genesis 1000 much more than the Performer, but the Performer is my goto for good steaks and all turkeys. Just depends on time frame and what I am cooking. With time, it all works out. Would not give up Performer or Genesis. They both have there place. Enjoy that new grill.

It'll work that way for a while, but then you can pull the gasser back out and use it to bake with. I'd never give up my Spirit. I use it to do vegetables, bake bread, all kinds of things. You'll be upset if you get rid of it. It might not be right away, but you'll miss it.

As a person who has 2 performers and 4 gassers and a couple of smokers and 2 Smokey Joes . I use them all depending on the weather or wind conditions and of course what I'm cooking. Can't see firing up a performer for a 10 minute burger cook, that's a gasser or maybe a SJ. Longer cooks it's the performer if the weather is good if not two of the gassers are under the covered patio. In the summer we have high winds and fire restrictions so it's the gassers as charcoal is not allowed when the restrictions are in effect.
Keep the gasser you'll regret getting rid of it.

Excellent point Rich! Different grills for different purposes exactly! Which is why I will continue the search for the right gasser for my needs. I had the OK for one from my wife but, I talked myself out of it. It's OK, there will be another one when the time is right!

I rolled my Charbroil to the curb this weekend. Didn't even think about it, just rolled it there, walked away and within 15 minutes it was gone. My Performer arrives tomorrow. The Charbroil was a piece of junk. While I know I should be increasing my collection, I don't want it bringing down the overall value of said collection.
