Patching holes in firebox?

I got a Red head 1000 last weekend. Mainly because of the lid which I am planning on using on another grill. Upon closer inspection I found three holes in the firebox. 2 about 1/4 in diameter. One a a bit smaller. The white dots in the linked photo. Can they be patched up? Maybe with some JB weld?
I don’t need the fire box but it would be nice to fix that grill up a bit with a black lid and sell it cheap.

Yep, common on the Genesis 1000 fireboxes. I have one on my personal Genesis 1000 about the size of a pea. Yes, JB weld high heat will patch it right up. Three years and mine is holding great.

I have done it to a flip grill as well. Good luck, but keep in mind that that JB high heat stuff is basically a one time use. I have bought two packs and after opening it after the first use, it was always hardened up no matter how tight I put the cap on it.
