Yum-Yum Steak Seasoning

The Yum Yum Steak Seasoning is a knock-off of the Outback Steak House's rub. I just like the name Yum Yum better! The recipe is below.
  • 4 tablespoon(s) Salt
  • 2 tablespoon(s) Paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Black pepper, coarsely ground
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon(s) Onion powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon(s) Garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon(s) Cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric

PREPARATION:
Mix together and use on any beef.

Makes about 1/2 cup.

-------------------

Another version making a smaller quantity:
  • 2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper, coarsely ground
  • 1/4 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
  • dash Coriander
  • dash Turmeric

PREPARATION:
Mix together and use on any beef.

Just showed this to DH. He is a BIG steak lover. He wants to try this the next time he has steak. I would rather we use the name "Outback Steak House Rub". lol

I always like the seasoning on outback steaks, blooming onions, and thunder from down under. The last time we went to Outback was about 4 years ago just after I got seriously into grilling and it was not a good experience. The steak was tough, service was poor, and I now made better steaks. We have not been back since. I do miss the onion and 'down under;-) Funny that just so happens I use just about the same seasonings on my steaks.
