OTG Texan Beef Chili

Otherwise known as a bowl of red, although mine has beans (not sure if the true Texan chili is with or without beans).
My recipe is based on this one by Tyler Florence.
At any rate, poblanos went on the coals.

And jalapenos went on to grill a bit.

Four lbs of Angus chuck on to sear.

Not the best picture, but here it is, simmered for nearly three hours. Beef was super tender and chili was delicious. Janelle's cornbread was perfect with it.

It was quite a chilly morning, but it warmed up by late afternoon when I did the grilling. Smells like autumn out there.
Thanks for looking. Hope everyone had a great weekend! - G

Very nice looking chili!!! I was planning on making chili this week but the heat is making a come back this week. I ready for summer to be over!!!

reminds me of an awesome old movie....
hungry little boy with the knowledge of fine cuisine says, "Please sir, May I have some more??!"

Very Nice Gary!

Looks great, time for me to throw some on the stove. Beans on the side for those that want them. Dried ancho's rehydrated add some depth.
