Nope but I would. I have some ready plum wood if you’d like. It was good on something I made a few months ago I don’t remember though. Because I don’t remember much of the past year. Massive brain fog from all of life’s changes.

Yes, the company I used to work for had ornamental pears planted all along (a rather long) incoming driveway. When the trees were in bloom, it was nice to look at, you just didn't want to inhale(!). I'm told that the smell attracts the pollinating insects, flies in this case.

I won't use it but feel free to use it. I will stick with the real wood with a proven taste. I have a lot of better choices than trying to save $$, nothing on that tree is editable, even acorns can be ate and have been used forever, a lot of crab apples are bitter and others have the same taste as a regular size apple. I have tried a lot of them over the last 58 years of wandering the fields and woods. At 63 I don't care to waste meat on a project I have no faith on,

I have seen it posted other places and just because the word pear is in it folks assume it's ok to use, straight up poison. may not be lethal but you probably gonna get sick using any part more than likely. Same issue using galvanized metal , starts emitting bad stuff under 400 degree if I am remembering correctly.

Yes, they can be used as smoking wood. Callery/Bradford Pear is a highly invasive plant brought over from Asia. Cut them all down and burn them as smoking woods!
