Orchard fruitwood

Me and the Mrs. took a country ride this morning out to a local orchard and picked some peaches. They're a little later getting ripe this year, but I got permission from the owner to come back after picking's over to collect as many broken limbs as I want.

Ya know, free peachwood with the leaves still on is a good thing, and you might have the same opportunity in your area. Of course, the same will go with apple a few months from now.

Dave I sounds like you have a great source for fruit wood. I have a friend with an orchard and he took out 150ish apple trees last year in preparation for a new planting. I now have a small stash of apple curing in the garage.

This year I'm gonna go out there more, for both the apple and the peach.

Regarding seasoning, I don't....not fruitwood chunks for smoking in the wsm. I might use less, but love it with the sap still in it. If I use it in the stickburner, different story.
