Oktoberfest Cook

Had the family over for Oktoberfest lunch on a surprisingly hot day here in SF. Got to test out the new Weber Traveler. Homemade pretzels, beer brats, Mom's German Potato Salad, chocolate cake, and of course..... Hofbrau.

@Michael Richards The recipe gives pretty good instructions. I use my KitchenAid mixer with a dough hook for mixing in the flour. Make sure to pinch the ends down when tying the pretzels together or they’ll come apart when you boil them with the baking soda. And make sure you sprinkle the kosher salt in with the egg wash before baking, it will just fall off if you try to sprinkle it on after they bake.

So I finally got around to making these pretzels today. Oh man they are good. Made a double batch and have leftover pretzels for this week.
