Well, i posted about the need to cook a butt in a crock pot since I'm staying in a condo for the 4th. I could have baked it but wanted to try the pot. It cooked much faster than i espected. I put a 7.5 lb butt on and didn't ck it for 7 hrs, at which time it was completely done. Internal temps were 205-208 and very tender. However, the fat didn't really render down like it does when i smoke it. I think it will taste fine with plenty of sause, and I know it is tender, but i've gotten used to really good smoked butt and this is a far cry.
