New Year's Day Tri-Tip

Picked up a Tri-tip roast at Safeway on new years eve. Looked good in the wrap. 4.99lb descent price. Brought it home and marinated overnight in Yosheda's cracked pepper and garlic sauce.
This evening , out of the marinade and seasoned with Kirkland mesquite rub.

Fire the Performer.


Roast seared at 400+ on the lid thermometer. Then moved to indirect and pulled at 131.

Tent foiled, then sliced.

Plated with garlic mashed taters and iceberg with blue cheese dressing.



Pretty darn tasty and wife approved. Thanks for looking. Happy new year all.

Great looking cook. Taters and salad are my favorite way to plate a nice piece of meat like that.
