new use for charcoal chimney

was cooking a pork butt the other day when it started to rain. having no plan in case it did rain i came up with this idea. the chimney sitting on the top vent acts as a good deflector from the rain. it redirects any drops to bottom of the chimney and none getting in my smoker. it was a kind of "forehead slap moment" for me since it now seems so obvious. hopefully link to photo will work and you can all see what i am talking about.
dunno if this is common knowledge to all the experienced vets out there or not but thought i would pass this tip along in case you get caught smoking in the rain without a plan b.........like me.........again.........:)
cheers,
ryan

That's a cool idea. Did you put anything under the chimney to prevent scratching or were you just very careful?
