But I'm too much of a wimp to grill in this weather. Give me a blizzard and I'll be out there. But these freezing temps with high winds and no snow? No fun. I'll try it out soon and will post up my thoughts. Should be a nice little accessory for the Q220

I finally put this on the Q today. Such a simple accessory, but way more useful than I thought. Before installing, I put the batteries in and tested it. It worked, but it sounded like there was something rattling around inside. And it was going on and off, making me think there was a loose wire or something inside. As the saying goes: 'you have to be smarter than the tools you're working with'. I was not. This little gadget actually has a ball bearing or something inside that breaks the circuit when the lid is in the down position, saving your batteries and giving you an 'auto on' functionality as you lift the lid. Of course, there is a button for manual control as well. Tonight was only my first use, but I'm really liking it. it lights up the grill surface sufficiently and doesn't get in the way. And the auto-on functionality is really cool.

It's standard on a new Q3200, and I will second the cool factor of the auto-on. I am notorious for leaving lights on that should be turned off. This little feature will save me $$ on batteries.

As Fall and then Winter crept upon us and cooking after work meant cooking in the dark, what surprised me is how evenly it lights up the whole grill area of the Q.

I have the clamp on Weber light for my E320 and it works great, the auto off is really nice so you don't have to turn it on/off every time you open the lid.
