New to WSM

Hi all! I have a shiny new WSM, my first one! It is a 22.5" and I used it today for my first cook... a brisket. I grabbed a 12 pounder from Cash-n-Carry, trimmed it up to around 9 pounds, rubbed her down with my dry rub and let her cook for 9 hours today until she was done. She cooked a little over for me (hit 198 F in the brisket), but it was still juicy, fork tender, and oh so smokey good! The WSM worked fantastic. I was able to hit 250 and hold that temp rock solid steady. It was like dialing it in and just leaving it alone. Love it! I own a Klose offset (have had it for about 10 years) and I now have another favorite smoker! Honestly, if I had gotten the WSM first, I might not have bought the Klose. But, I sure am proud to have them both. Here are some pictures from today's cook. I started at 4:15 AM this morning (Seattle) and had a late lunch/early dinner.

Thanks to all those posting tips, FAQs, and comments. I read through a bunch of articles here and it really helped alot.

I picked up four paving blocks from Home Depot and set my WSM on top of them. It protects the deck from the fire I am prone to light on top of it!
