New to BBQing. Some questions.


 
I've never had a therm on my grill. I may do the mod to put one on. My only guess is that maybe try keeping the lid parallel to the ground and only move it off enough to put your stuff on. That may hold in more heat. I typically never pay attention to what the temp is and just cook food til its done, but I may start paying more attention to up my game.
 
Hi all,

Finally going to have a chance to get the BBQ out again tonight, due to some nice weather in the North East of Scotland.

Going to get it lit when I go home, give it a good 30 mins to heat up, and get some burgers on it, might stick some halloumi in there for a few minutes too.
