I’m not 100% sure what you’re talking about. But I’m thinking it’s your pellet hopper dump. Shoot. So check the underside of your hopper. There should be a slide sheet metal piece that you can pull to empty the pellets out of your hopper. Maybe it’s not positioned correctlyWell, I just took delivery of my ELX6 and it looks good. I saw this gap in the hopper chute and was wondering if it would be a problem for me?

It just looks like it’s slid under the tap instead of over. Should just be able to slide open the dump and close it again maybe putting light downward pressure on the part you grab so the other end goes up. That’s if I remember correctly, my SmokeFire has been gone over two years now.
Are we talking the big hole in the middle or the gap along the edge in upper left?
Either way, nothing to worry about. Enjoy!
It looks like Weber slightly changed the pellet dump when they redesigned the hopper. The plate that moves back and forth is not flush on the Gen1 and Gen2. They are very similar however and not a problem for pellet flow. When a problem void develops it's over the auger chute so - not to worry. It's fine. I hope this helps. Have fun.
