I got my first charcoal grill, a portable silver. My wife is getting me a platinum for Father's Day. I have never liked cooking but am loving cooking with charcoal. I am from North Carolina and have a wife and five year old little girl. I look forward to learning from all of the pros.

Thanks for the kind welcome. We are taking the camper out for Memorial Day weekend. We will be grilling on our Silver every day. I also cooked pork chops last night and they were delicious. It was the best fire I have had yet. I read on here that on the portables you should leave the lid off for high heat and that definitely worked for me.
